PRE-TREATMENT GUIDELINES
-
Avoid Active Skincare Ingredients: Discontinue the use of active skincare products like retinoids, glycolic acid, salicylic acid, and any other chemical exfoliants 5-7 days before your treatment to prevent skin irritation.
-
Sun Protection: Avoid direct sun exposure and refrain from using tanning beds or self-tanning products for at least 2 weeks before treatment. If you are exposed to the sun, use a broad-spectrum SPF 30 or higher.
-
Hydrate: Drink plenty of water in the days leading up to your treatment to help keep your skin hydrated and prepared for the procedure.
-
Medical Conditions: Inform your clinician if you have any underlying skin conditions, allergies, or medical concerns.
-
Avoid Waxing and Exfoliation: Do not wax or use other forms of exfoliation on the treatment area for at least one week prior.
POST-TREATMENT AFTERCARE
-
Gentle Cleansing: Cleanse your skin with a mild, non-irritating cleanser for at least 48 hours after the treatment. Avoid scrubbing or using harsh cleansing tools.
-
Avoid Active Ingredients: For 5-7 days post-treatment, avoid products containing active ingredients such as retinoids, glycolic acid, salicylic acid, benzoyl peroxide, or any other chemical exfoliants, as your skin will be more sensitive.
-
Moisturize: Keep your skin hydrated by applying a gentle, non-comedogenic moisturizer containing soothing ingredients like hyaluronic acid or aloe vera. This will help maintain the moisture barrier and aid in skin healing.
-
Sun Protection: Use a broad-spectrum SPF 30 (or higher) daily to protect your skin from UV damage. Reapply every 2 hours if outdoors. Avoid direct sun exposure or tanning beds for at least two weeks post-treatment.
-
Avoid Heat and Sweating: Refrain from hot showers, saunas, steam rooms, and intense exercise for at least 48 hours after treatment, as heat can irritate the skin.
-
No Makeup for 24 Hours: Avoid applying makeup for the first 24 hours post-treatment to allow the skin to breathe and heal properly.
-
Hydrate Internally: Drink plenty of water to stay hydrated, supporting the healing process from within.
-
Avoid Picking or Touching the Skin: Refrain from picking or scratching at the skin, especially if mild peeling occurs. Let any skin shedding happen naturally.
-
Reintroduce Skincare Gradually: After 5-7 days, you can slowly reintroduce your regular skincare routine. Start with gentle products before moving back to active ingredients.
-
Monitor Your Skin: If you experience excessive redness, irritation, or breakouts, contact your clinician for further advice.
